Create in faith

My journey

I love doing art because it is one of the only things that can completely get me out of my head and which can often make me loose track of time. Creativity is something I have always been excited about but almost never made the time for. However, art is part of my legacy. My grandma was an oil painter and my mum specialises in water colour painting. I did some art here and there, but never in a serious way. Then, in 2019, the corona confinement encouraged me to finally have my art journey take off. I invested in art supplies for acrylic pouring and the adventure started. Now, 4 years later (= April 2024), I am still growing in experiential and intellectual art knowledge. I am currently doing an art course [lead by 3 worldly recognised (fluid) abstract art artists: Molly Leach, Olga Soby and Rinske Douna]. I continue to experiment and I am going next level when it comes to the quality of the art supplies used.

My vision

Making the invisible visible.

With my art I aim, first of all, to connect heaven to earth, to cooperate with the Creator of the Universe, God. In this way, I desire to deliver meaningful art, a piece that makes a difference, a piece of art that leaves people in a better place.

Secondly, I aim to create something that is authentically me. I therefore often create out of the emotions inside of me, what I am going through, what people are going through. But it doesn’t stop there. I also desire to create a reality. When feeling restless, I create peace. When feeling down, I create joy. When in pain, I create healing. This is the reason why my niche is called “prophetic art”. I create in faith.

Hebrews 11:1 (Bible)

Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.

White Swan Feather

My Canvas

I specialize in acrylic pouring on canvas and abstract concepts.

The technique

Acrylic pouring is an abstract art technique that belongs to the category of “fluid art”. I pour fluid acrylic paints or inks on a surface (canvas, wood,…) and by doing so I create art. There are many pouring techniques like: string pull pour (feather pull), dirty pour, Dutch pour, swipe, flip cup,…

The materials used for this art technique are: acrylic paint[I use Amsterdam acrylic paint (Standard and Expert series) and Ara acrylic paint (this is a very durable and hight pigmented paint)], wall paint, (sometimes) a pouring medium (Liquitex pouring medium), (sometimes) a torch (to create cells), water, a surface (I use canvasses from different brands depending on the intention of the art work), a blow dryer, varnish (to make the artworks more durable and give a glass-like touch to the art work).

Acrylic pouring art is a balance between coincidence and control.

I plan the color palette, the composition (to a certain degree) and the message the piece is going to deliver.

However, I am mostly in the passenger seat when I start pouring the colours. Once I start pouring, I let go, I give the painting into the hands of the Creator. I then become a tool through which beauty and truth is delivered.
